Great Opportunities Are About Mindset: Leveraging Small Opportunities for Large Impact

Studies Thursday, 8 October 2026

In a constantly changing and dynamic world, opportunities do not always present themselves in large, clear, or neatly structured forms. More often than not, opportunities are hidden behind challenges, shifts, or problems that initially appear to be obstacles. So, how can a future leader identify and transform these “small” opportunities into extraordinary impact?

The Bureau of Strategic Management (BMS) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) presents the Sustainable Future Leader Skill Series, highlighting the importance of a growth mindset in capturing and managing opportunities. read more

UGM Hosts Elevate HE Indonesia Workshop to Advance Curriculum Transformation and Graduate Readiness

Activities Tuesday, 29 September 2026

Realizing Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045 requires strong contributions from the higher education sector. With more than 4,600 universities and polytechnics, Indonesia has significant capacity to develop human resources capable of supporting national development. However, this potential depends on the ability of higher education institutions to continuously improve quality, relevance, innovation, and global competitiveness while responding to the needs of society and development at the local level. Rapid technological change, advances in artificial intelligence, evolving industry needs, and increasingly complex social challenges require universities to continuously renew how they educate and prepare future generations. read more

Building High-Quality Teams, Creating Sustainable Impact: Five Frameworks for Leading Top Talent

Studies Wednesday, 2 September 2026

Building a high-quality team depends not only on individual capabilities, but also on how an organization sets direction, selects talent, develops competencies, and maintains performance standards. As part of the Sustainable Future Leader Skill Series, this session explored five strategic frameworks for attracting, retaining, and leading top talent to build teams capable of creating sustainable impact.

The first framework is the team-building pyramid, which consists of vision, strategy, talent, and standards. Vision provides direction, strategy provides the path, talent serves as the driving force, while standards maintain the quality of the team. In the recruitment process, organizations should also assess candidates through practical work assessments rather than relying solely on what candidates say about themselves. This approach enables organizations to gain a more concrete understanding of candidates’ thinking, work practices, communication, and collaboration skills while reducing the risk of making unsuitable hiring decisions. read more

Building an Adaptive Organization to Optimize AI Transformation

Studies Monday, 27 July 2026

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) has changed the way organizations work, make decisions, and build accountability. AI is no longer just a supporting tool. It has become an integral part of business processes, driving efficiency and innovation.

Alongside these opportunities, organizations also face new challenges in AI governance. AI systems that continuously learn and evolve require mechanisms for transparency, accountability, and documentation, such as decision logs, so that every decision they produce can be understood and accounted for. read more

Impactful Strategic Leaders: Leadership That Creates Value for Organizations

Studies Wednesday, 15 July 2026

In an increasingly dynamic working world, leadership is no longer simply a symbol of promotion. It is the ability to create a positive impact on teams and organizations. Leaders are expected not only to have technical competence, but also to build collaboration, develop the potential of their team members, and make strategic decisions.

One challenge that often arises in organizations is the Peter Principle, a situation in which people are promoted based on their success in a previous role rather than their readiness to lead. As a result, organizations risk losing their best contributors without gaining effective leaders. A leader’s success is no longer measured by individual achievement, but by the ability to empower the team to reach shared goals. read more

Doing More vs Doing the Right Thing: Managing Priorities to Optimize Results

Studies Friday, 26 June 2026

Amid increasingly dynamic demands at work and in life, productivity is often measured by how many activities we manage to complete. Yet being busy does not always mean making progress. Doing a lot of work does not necessarily bring us closer to the goals we want to achieve.

The concept of “Doing the Right Thing” invites us to change the way we think about productivity. Instead of focusing on the quantity of activities, this approach emphasizes choosing and doing the things that have the greatest impact on our goals. In other words, being productive does not mean doing more work, but doing the right work. read more
